TURKMENISTAN TOUR PROGRAM

Day 1: (Arrive from Uzbekistan) Farap – Turkmenabat – Mary
Meet at Farap border / Turkmen side. Drive to Mary, en route cross Amudarya river, Sundukli barchans & Karakum desert. Accommodation in Mary 5* hotel.
Day 2: Mary – Merv
Drive to Bairam Ali town. Visit the historical site “Ancient Merv” (Margiana Alexandrine 1st century BC – 18th). The ancient city of Merv (Persian Marv) contains a succession of ancient cities developed over a period of 2500 years at the heart of the oasis formed by the Murgab river delta, and close to the course of where the main river channel flowed in ancient times. Visiting of Sultan-Kala (9th-12th centuries), Gyaur-Kala (3rd-century BC-9th century AD), and Erk-Kala (1st-millennium ВС), sightseeing the architectural monuments which are concentrated around "The pearl of ancient Merv" the Sultan Sandjar Mausoleum, rising high above the center of Sultan-Kala.
In the period of Sultan Sanjar, Merv was the capital of their great country, the largest town in Middle Asia and in the whole Muslim East. Site seeing of sites: Greater and Lesser Gyz Gala (Maiden Fortress), Ashabs’ Mausoleum, Hoja Yusup Hamedany Mausoleum, and Muhammed-ibn-Zeid Mausoleum. Return to Mary. Overnight in Mary 5* hotel.
Day 3: Mary – Ashgabat
Drive to Ashgabat. Along the way to Ashgabat visit the historical site Abiverd (1st millennium B.C. – XIX century A.D.). Abiverd was one of the most significant cities of North Khorasan, repeatedly mentioned in written sources, namely from the times of Arab conquest. Historian At-Tabari wrote the exact date of the Khorasan cities' conquest such as Abiverd, Nisa, Serakhs, and Merv by Arabs in 651. Arrive in Ashgabat. Accommodation in Grand Turkmen 4* hotel.
Day 4: Ashgabat
Ashgabat city sightseeing tour. Visiting of “Gulistan” market (so-called Russian bazaar), the park and monument of “10 Akhalteke horses”, a monument of Independence, the National Museum of History & Ethnography where a full collection of Turkmenistan’s most significant architectural finds, a large number of Ancient Turkmen carpets and rugs, examples of national dress and fabrics, traditional household equipment, musical instruments, weapons, jewelry, medals, and historical documents are displayed. Overnight in Grand Turkmen 4* hotel.
Day 5: Ashgabat – Departure
Transfer to the airport. Seeing off the tourists.
