Day 1: Ashgabat – Kow-ata – Nokhur (by 4WD)

Drive to Nohur village. En route visit of “Kov-Ata” underground lake in Baharly. This cave impresses with its greatness. A warm hydrogen sulfide lake lies in a cave at the Kopet Dag foothills. The lake is available all year round because of the constant temperature of water (33-37◦C) and air. Continue to drive to Nokhur - set 1,100 m above the Garagum Desert in the cool mountain valleys of southwestern Turkmenistan.

Arrive in Nokhur. Short sightseeing of Nokhur village and visiting of "Gyz Bibi" Pilgrimage site & its unique cemetery where each tomb has the horns of mountain goats, the Great Tree - the oldest tree in the village thought to be 800 years old. Introduction with local silk textile weavers and having dinner with a local family. Overnight at local family’s house or tents.

Nokhur - in many respects an extraordinary culture and region in the western Kopetdag range. Accented by two small flowing streams, the flora and fauna of this region is exceptional. There are mountain goats (Umga and Marhur), Urial mountain sheep, wolves, foxes, jackals, porcupines, and even snow leopards in these mountain-ridges. Outstanding carpentry and unusual stone-houses are characteristic of their hillside villages amidst picturesque pomegranates and almond orchards.

Day 2: Nokhur – Balkanabat – Yangikala (by 4WD)

Leave Nohur and drive to Balkanabat. Arrive at the site. Have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the local bazaar to stock up on supplies to continue the trip to the canyon of Yangikala, home to some of the best scenery in Turkmenistan. Explore the cliffs on foot. When the sun sets drive to the pilgrimage site of Gozli Ata. Overnight at a local pilgrim house (multi-share accommodation) or camping.

Day 3: Yangikala – Turkmenbashi – Ashgabat (By flight)

Drive first to the pilgrimage site of Kemal Ata with its interesting volcanic landscape. Explore the site and have lunch. From here continue to the Turkmenbashy City - the biggest port town of Turkmenistan. The town is enclosed with low mountains and faces the Caspian Sea. Arrive at Turkmenbashy. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Ashgabat. Arrival in Ashgabat. End of the program.
