Roughly 40-45 minutes drive from Ashgabat along the mountainous area with good views you can reach Halklara horsecomplex and hippodrome. Almost every weekend they held Ahalteke horse races and people can gamble on totalisator. Conditions there just outstanding. The complex has 10 stables for up to 400 horses. The horse track is 2 km and is top notch. There is both an open air and closed seat areas to watch races. A beatiful place to see, definitely worth a visit.
